Community Events

Submission - 25 October 2018

Following the Pre-submission consultation period the Plan was updated to reflect the comments made (details are here in the appendices to the Consultation Statement). This set of documents has been approved by the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, Uffington Parish Council and Baulking Parish Meeting.  They were submitted to the Vale of the White Horse District Council on 25 October 2018.

 

The process is then as follows:

  • Following submission, the Vale will arrange a further 6 week consultation period. Comments from this consultation will be collated and passed, with the unchanged Plan, to the appointed Examiner.
  • The Examiner will consider the Plan and make any recommendations for changes required prior to holding the Referendum.
  • The Referendum will be organised and run in the same manner as local or national elections.
  • Subject to a successful outcome of the Referendum (which requires a simple majority vote for it to be carried), the Plan will then become 'made' (adopted).
  • The made Plan will then form, along with the Local Plan Parts 1 and 2*, part of the 'Development Plan' for the District and which will be used to help determine future Planning Applications.

 

* Currently being considered by the Examiner and not yet adopted.

Future Events

A range of community events will be held whilst the Plan is being created and approved.  These will cover both general progress of the Plan and specific topics where we want to ensure we have captured and reflected accurately the views of the community.

VOWH Local Plan

Part 1. The Vale Local Plan Part 1 was made on 14 December 2016.  In parallel with the finalisation of Part 1, the Vale has been working on Part 2 which will be launched for public consultation on 6 March 2017. In line with the Vale's our Statement of Community
Involvement we are keen to ensure that members of the public have a range of opportunities to become aware of the Local Plan and that they understand the
importance of giving us their feedback on the plan.


Part 2. A series of public events was organised to enable members of the public to meet with Planning Officers to discuss the Local Plan and to share their views on the options. The Council received over 3,000 comments from over 500 individual consultees and/or organisations to the Local Plan 2031 Part 2 Preferred Options Consultation. The Vale and then the external examiner are/will be reviewing the report and any last minute consultation responses to inform the final update to the Part 2 Plan.
